22nd December 2009 - 5th January 2010
Our December tour will consist of 14 nights, covering 3 days in the Colombian Caribbean city Cartagena, 9 nights in Cali - considered by many as 'the Salsa capital in the world', during its world famous Latin carnival 'La Feria de Cali', and ending the holiday with 2 nights to rest and recover from the carnival in a virgin beach resort ln the Pacific coast of Colombia. For those new to Cali and Colombia, 'The Cali Fair' is the most important cultural event in Cali, Colombia. It is a celebration of the region’s cultural identity, famous for the Salsa marathon, horse riding parades, carnival parades, beauty contest, concerts, Salsa dance showcases of the city's most popular dance schools and the numerous dance parties.

Cali is considered by Colombians and many other people as the ‘World Capital of Salsa’, given the city’s infatuation with this type of Afro-Caribbean music, therefore Salsa music and dance are paramount to the Cali Fair; one of the most important events during the fair, is ‘El Super-Concierto' or 'Festival de Orquestas', where 20 to 30 of the best bands and Latin artists in the world, overall Salsa bands, play live one after the other in front of 30,000 people at the city’s stadium from 2pm to 3am.

This will be an amazing and exciting Salsa experience in the heart of one of the most beautiful, vibrant, welcoming, modern and undiscovered countries in Latin America.   Colombia's progress on all fronts in the last few years is undeniable and the country is fast becoming a hot spot for tourists.  This event is sponsored and supported by the Colombian government organization Proexport, Cali’s Culture & Tourist Board and Cali’s World Salsa Festival.
