Salsa dancers from Cali, Colombia have continued to establish their pedigree around the world in the last few years, on December 2007 in the third World Salsa Championships in Orlando, Florida, USA Cali dancers finished first and second in the Cabaret division open to all styles, while in the Teams competition Cali Salsa teams finished first, second and third, with groups as large as 20 members. Jhon Vasquez & Yudi Aguilar, lead couple of Swing Latino’s dance troupe until 2008, were the world champions that year in the Cabaret division, improving on their Runners Up placing the previous year, they were also part of Swing Latino’s group that took the Team world champions category in 2006 and 2007.
Jhon Vasquez & Yudy Aguilar are the most distinguished Salsa couple from Cali, Colombia, the epitome of the skill, energy and passion of a city wholly devoted to Salsa, they have an extensive record of achievements, they have been twice Colombian national champions in 2005 and 2006, Cali World Salsa Festival champions in 2006, world runners up in the World Salsa Championships in 2006, world Salsa dance Champions in 2007, in addition to being part of Swing Latino’s world champions team in 2006 and 2007 in Colombia and the USA.
